When selecting carpeting and flooring for the bedroom, you should keep in mind that it's a space that should embody sanctuary and comfort. It should also reflect your style and be practical too. Don't rush into purchasing anything before you've sized all potential items. It's important to carefully measure how everything will fit together in the room.
You can use newspaper templates to help map out proportions, and this is a cheap way to avoid mistakes that could end up being costly. Keep in mind that certain colors are more suitable for bedrooms. Colors that you naturally find comforting are a good choice. A pale blue is a popular bedroom color choice because it tends to promote serenity and calmness. For the first time the Devon County Council has announced that the unwanted carpets in Devon will go for recycling and not to a landfill. The first batch of carpets weighing in at 8 tons is scheduled to go to a recycling expert in Wiltshire.
This centre for recycling of carpets opened shop in June and is a first of its kind venture. It is free for residents and they are planning on opening centers across Devon by April 2012. According to estimates around 500,000 tons of waste from carpets is buried in landfills every year so the authorities are looking to recycle the natural and synthetic fibers from the carpets and use them in various applications.
This recycled material can be used in making plastic park benches, soil erosion protection, road cones, compost bins, insulation and other parts. The technology for recycling from carpets is still under development as most technologies focus on removing the pile fibers which are turned into engineering resins and used in plastic molding.
